Probationary Membership

Please note that during the COVID crisis we are unable to accept new members with little or no previous shooting experience. Training people to shoot safely requires close contact meaning which is not possible whilst maintaining a safe social distance. We are regularly reviewing this policy, and will update this page as soon as things change. We apologise for any disappointment caused.

We are, however, still looking for potential members who have recently members of another shooting club, or who have military / police training. If that applies to you please register your interest by email to the membership secretary on twickenhamrifle@gmail.com.

Only a limited number of Probationary Members are allowed to join the club at any one time.

Probationary Membership lasts for six months. Applicants who are already holders of an FAC or are existing members of another Home Office recognised club are not required to go through a probationary period although we will ask for references.

During your Probation you will normally receive personal instruction from senior club members in each of the three main disciplines we shoot; air rifle, air pistol and small bore target rifle. This training and general oversight is provided free of charge and by the end of the period, and dependent on your age, you will be signed off as competent on our indoor ranges.

Probationary members are encouraged to attend on Sundays between 12:30 and 15:30. After initial training you will also be able to attend on Wednesdays between 19:30 and 21:30.

How Much Will Probationary Membership Cost?

We believe you need to get to know us before you make any long term commitments. Your six month probationary member fee is only £55 (£27.50 for under 18's).
